Why Train Your Puppy?

Puppyhood is the most important developmental period in your dog’s life. It shapes how they relate to the world, to you, and to themselves. Most owners don’t know how to properly expose and socialize their puppy—and that leads to long-term behavior issues. Professional guidance is the most effective way to prevent those problems before they start.

Let’s Be Honest..

Puppies are difficult. They start out fun, but more often than not — new owners end up overwhelmed, frustrated, and unsure how to move forward. That’s right — you’re not alone! Let’s look at the statistics to give you a better idea just how natural it is to feel the way you do:

According to dogster.com, pupguide.net, and caninejournal.com..

Regret & Overwhelm After Puppy Adoption:

  • 54% of dog owners report experiencing some level of regret after getting a dog. This includes feelings of being overwhelmed, anxious, or unsure if they made the right decision.

  • Nearly 20% of adopters express active regret within the first few months—often due to unexpected responsibilities, behavioral challenges, or lifestyle mismatches.

52% say the costs of vet care and ownership were higher than expected, which can compound stress and regret. Behavioral issues often have a direct impact on veterinary expenses.

Let us do the heavy lifting while you focus on the joy of raising your dog.

Common Triggers for Regret:

  • “Puppy blues”: A term used to describe the emotional crash some people feel after bringing a puppy home—similar to post-partum overwhelm.

  • Sleep disruption, loss of freedom, and training frustrations are major contributors.

  • Owners often feel guilt or shame for having these feelings, which makes it harder to seek support.

What Helps:

  • Most regret is temporary—especially when adopters get support, adjust expectations, and build a routine.

  • The adjustment curve typically spans 3 days of shock, 3 weeks of settling, and 3 months to feel fully integrated
